Re: SRB Accreditation & Communique updates

Not one for picking an argument! The Rail Response Group has attended countless fatalities and the role of recovery falls to them. That will depend on a number of issues, primarily if it's suicide etc. I would wager that were there suspicious circumstances they wouldn't be the primary option. One c...

Re: SRB Accreditation & Communique updates

Isn't L.R. SES primary and FRNSW secondary, surely enough equipment and expertise for a recovery in a hole. Body recovery is first and foremost a crime scene and thus police, wherever possible, should perform the task for a number of reasons. Body recovery is also not a "rescue". If the PRS team ta...

Re: New role for PRS?

No doubt they'll have to build a bigger rescue truck once the F&R ''technical rescues" roll out.

Re: New role for PRS?

So salty...must be a lack of sleep with so much NetFlix and Foxtel to binge on. ;)

If you hadn't read previously over the years, I'm all for F&R to do all RCR across the State. As for 4 persons to every job...would be very nice, even better if all 4 were rescue qualified.

Re: New role for PRS?

Good use of an RPA if you ask me. Unlike F&R, PRS, like any police unit, aren't restricted to sitting in the station watching foxtel (which police don't have...nor beds...or proper kitchens...rec rooms...gyms... etc) so out an about they go doing other things...like policing where they're able to ha...

Re: Ambulance responce times

I saw that and just shook my head....3 hours in a major CBD is ridiculous. They also mentioned something about a cut to the LFB budget of $140 million ounds or similar plus closures of stations etc?

Re: RFS response to volunteer’s conviction for fatal accident

What people seem to forget is that Rule 306 only exempts an emergency vehicle from the Road Rules . It does not provide any exemption for any other Traffic legislation, such as those within the Road Transport Act or Crimes Act. Such as PCA offences and those involving collisions...injury...or death ...

Re: Is this the beginning of the end of ASNSW rescue

I was recently told by SOT paramedic that ASNSW have "grandfathered" their SCAT program - i.e. there will be no more trained. Instead, some SOT paramedics will do some additional remote access type training. Not sure if this will bring them up to the same level as SCAT. It's not just the VR or remo...

Re: VRA Funding

Looks like Wagga Wagga VRA spent all their coin on a large PRS style rescue truck with all the funky stickers and lighting... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0c/Wagga_Wagga_Rescue_Squad_HINO_Ranger_VRA_Primary_Rescue_Unit_369_%281%29.jpg Funny that Wagga Wagga SES has a large brand ...
