Re: Fire Plus Rescue??

In QLD it's new shoulder patches for the urbans, they get to choose 4 models. Its about giving separation to the rurals, a patch for QFES, a patch for RFS under QFES, a patch for FRS under QFES, and no doubt a patch for SES under QFES. This will be the 5th new badge for this officers cap in 30 years...

Re: RFS and Rescue

No emotions from me, I am just stating a fact. What would be the response times for those units you identified to respond to an incident in the community of Mungindi. How many other communities of 700 people in NSW don't have a rescue only appliance sitting in a shed.. At the 2016 census, Mungindi ...

Re: RFS and Rescue

all that money spent on something that will have approx 4 incidents a year I would wager that if you or a family member were involved in one of those four incidents, your view would rapidly change. here we go ..roll out the what if emotion card. Mungindi and it's local area could be serviced into f...

Re: Tathra fire - RFS declined FRNSW help

A very concise and informed response. A way towards solving this problem is to appoint an overseeing Fire Service Commissioner that the two agency Commissioners or department heads report to. The overseeing Commissioner would need to be sourced externally (not from within the NSW RFS or FRNSW). QLD....

Re: Tathra fire - RFS declined FRNSW help

The truth out now from FRNSW. "A spokeswoman for FRNSW downplayed any tension between the two organisations. "Due to the initial location of the fire in remote and rugged bushland, the nearest FRNSW resources, being a city (urban) fire truck and hazardous materials van, were not suitable," she said...

Re: Fire feud has seen properties burn

Thankyou 2 hats. ;) This 2 agency same/similar response to urban and urban/rural interface incidents has got to stop. Why, most larger interface incidents require both services in order have the appropriate resources. Ditto for some 'Urban' incidents as well. See there's your problem, you can't vis...

Re: Fire feud has seen properties burn

Thankyou 2 hats. ;) This 2 agency same/similar response to urban and urban/rural interface incidents has got to stop. Victoria is working on it, it almost doesn't exist in QLD. Why would someone who is a volunteer front line firefighter allow or put themselves in the above situations...trying to act...

Re: SRB Accreditation & Communique updates

Not one for picking an argument! The Rail Response Group has attended countless fatalities and the role of recovery falls to them. Good example...surely a rail fatality is a police investigation, why do9es the Rail Response Group need to even exist for body recovery (more like parts collection from...

Re: SRB Accreditation & Communique updates

"Body recovery is first and foremost a crime scene and thus police, wherever possible, should perform the task for a number of reasons. " There are many occasions where Police are very "choosy" about body recovery! Sure, then nominate the "number of reasons"..and the "many occasions" where Police a...

Re: SRB Accreditation & Communique updates

Isn't L.R. SES primary and FRNSW secondary, surely enough equipment and expertise for a recovery in a hole. Body recovery is first and foremost a crime scene and thus police, wherever possible, should perform the task for a number of reasons. Body recovery is also not a "rescue". If the PRS team ta...
