More details have been released this morning, and shows just how tough of a decision these guys had to make that night.

Thoughts go out to his family, the crew working with him and the whole ambulance service.

One of the media outlets has released full details (or their version of it anyway) which I thought was inappropriate, but it is the media after all.

IMHO should have been left for the ATSB and the Coroner etc.
The only way to not make a mistake is to do nothing.

I agree Stirrer, and lets hope, out of respect, this topic does not degenerate............

At a CI debrief yesterday afternoon it was stated quite categorically that Ambulance still are not fully appraised of all aspects of this incident, nor have any conclusions been drawn. Whilst I expect nothing less of the media, I hope out of respect that we here will not be drawn on the same type of conjecture. I give my word that I will appraise people here if any new light is shed on events. For those that may wish to know I will also post details of any arrangements in the coming days.

Thanks Seb. Unfortunately, all the media reports (and there are now many), are quoting Supt. Gary Worboys, the LAC. Perhaps it would have been better if he had said nothing and left any theorising to after investigating police and ATFB had finished their investigations but to be fair to him the media would not have been content with that. He was in a difficult position.

That can often prove worse than releasing some information though.

A terrible event for all those involved and all emergency services.

Vale. :(

I was informed today that there will be a state funeral for Michael Wilson in the city this coming week, at this stage it is planned for Tuesday. Details to be confirmed most probably by Friday of this week.
